Get Real Consulting was founded in 2000 by two technology gurus and a staffing expert. Our mission is to bring people and technology together in harmony to accomplish amazing things for our clients.
We have expert technologists in Rockville, MD and Bangalore, India who have worked together for seven years. Responding to the varying needs of our clients we offer a spectrum from completely US-based project teams to a 90% offshore team. Many of our customers enjoy a hybrid team that combines the cost savings of offshore development with the quality and control of a locally-based team. We don't believe in completely offshore development; without adequate control, communication, and coordination software development is not cost effective at any price. -
Our name, Get Real Consulting, is a reference to the numerous misadventures in web development that we have run across or heard about. Unreal things we help our clients avoid include:
- Blowing the entire project budget in architecture and design sessions before anything is actually built
- Creating something unnecessarily complex just because it uses the "coolest" technology
- Falling into the "because we can" trap of creating unnecessarily complex (and therefore hard to learn) systems

We provide complete software development teams for internet/software startups leaving them free to focus on their vision, marketing and financing activities.
We also develop and maintain entire systems for established companies that don’t have the internal capacity or whose internal groups aren’t able to accomplish the task in the time allotted.
From a simple advisory engagement through the development of a large complex solution, we offer technology expertise for discrete projects.

Permanent Placement – We find, screen, and place candidates for full time employment.
Temp-to-Perm Placement – We place contract personnel with the client’s option to hire them as an employee after a set period of time.
Contract Personnel – We place contract personnel for engagements from 1 to 12 months at a time.
GSA Multiple Awards Schedule 70 Contract Number: GS-35F-0589M. We have an IDIQ with SAMHSA and other ongoing relationships. We also provide services as a federal sub-contractor.
We have provided services to state and local agencies such as the Forensic Sciences unit of the MD State Police.
