Get Real Consulting is working with the American Cancer Society to design, architect and develop an online secure health social networking application for sharing cancer information and resources. Giving cancer patients and their caregiver’s trusted American Cancer Society information, resources and tools they need that is tailored to their specific unique situation.
Challenge
Cancer patients and their caregivers often spend a lot of time browsing numerous internet sites and public libraries researching the disease, treatment options, and drugs treatments. Because this information comes from multiple sources the information is sometimes disjointed, repetitive and out of date. This maze of information tends to confuse the patient more than educate them while coping with a cancer diagnosis.
Solution
The goal of the Circle Of Sharing™ for American Cancer society is to create a secure online community to educate, show localized available resources and tools for cancer patients, caregivers, family and friends of cancer patients.
This application seeks to remove the burden on newly diagnosed patients by serving as a one-stop solution for all cancer related information. Most importantly, the application will deliver personalized content about the patient’s disease based on the diagnosis, localized treatment options, drugs and the side effects associated with each drug treatment. Patients can then share as much of that information as they like with other family and friends they invite into their Circle. Caregivers, family and friends will also get tips on dealing with cancer patients and receive stories of hope.
